Vincent Joseph Enright

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Vincent J. Enright of Pensacola, Florida, on September 5, 2021. He was 79 years old. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years demonstrates his courage in facing life’s challenges with grace and determination. Vincent was born in Manhattan, NY, on February 28, 1942. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Margaret (Curry) and Michael Enright, and by his siblings Geraldine, Michael, Richard, Ronald, and Terence. Left to cherish his memory is the love of his life, his high school sweetheart and devoted wife of 58 years, Rosemary (Zukowski) Enright. Vincent is also survived by his daughter Christine Shymchyk (John), his granddaughter Samantha Edwards (Sean), his grandson Andrew Shymchyk (Tricia) and his great-grandson Conner Douglas Edwards. Many cousins, nieces, and nephews will also miss Vincent. Before retiring, Vincent was the Manager of Business Development and Quality Assurance for Smurfit-Stone, Bag Packaging Division, where he was employed for over 40 years. He also was a member of the Army Reserves, serving the Army National Guard of New York, 77th Infantry Division at Camp Drum in Watertown, NY. His Active Duty Training as a Light Weapons Infantryman took place at Fort Dix, New Jersey. Vincent was an insatiable reader and enjoyed golfing and fishing. He and Rosemary loved to travel, especially with frequent visits to their favorite destination, Hawaii. He was always an incredible whistler, especially with his favorite Frank Sinatra tunes, and he treasured time spent with his family. His quick wit, amazing intelligence, and vault of trivia facts could rival any Jeopardy champion! A private funeral Mass will be held at St. Jude Roman Catholic Church in Columbiana, Ohio, on October 16, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Father David Misbrener will officiate and burial will follow at Firestone Cemetery, also in Columbiana, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Faith Chapel Funeral Home South, 100 Beverly Parkway, Pensacola, is entrusted with arrangements.
