Sylvia Rita Hall

Sylvia Rita Hattaway Hall, a resident of Pensacola, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 15, 2024. She was 88. Sylvia was born in Walton County, Florida on August 26, 1935, to William M. and Mary Esther Hattaway. She attended Walton High School. She was a homemaker for most of her life, a devoted wife and beloved mother, and she also gave generously of her time and service to God through the churches she belonged to over the years, most recently Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and brought up her children to love Jesus, too. Though we feel her loss profoundly, we take comfort in our faith that she is spending eternity with God in Heaven, and that we will all be reunited one day. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Charles D. Hall; her parents William and Mary Esther Hattaway; four sisters, Elaine Zuraff, Janie Adams, Clara Jo Kitzmann, and Barbara Tyler. She is survived by her five children, Terry Hall of Pensacola, Tracy (Robert) McCants of Pensacola, Tim (Karen) Hall of Milton, Tommy (Regina) Hall of Pensacola, and Tori (John) Sudduth of Panama City Beach; nine grandchildren, Chris (Debby) Berrian, Robert Hall, Katie (Josh) Simpson, John (Amy) Hall, Joey Hall, Tucker Hall, Trey Hall, Michael Sudduth, and Eric Sudduth; five great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; four sisters, Ann Rowell, Joyce Stafford, Nell Moore, and Judy Tison; three brothers, Jack Hattaway, Jim Hattaway, and John Hattaway, as well as numerous extended family members and friends. The family would like to thank the staff of Arcadia for taking care of our mother for the past two years, and Covenant Hospice for making her final weeks more comfortable. Faith Chapel Funeral Home South is in charge of the arrangements. There will be a private viewing exclusively for family members, scheduled from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Faith Chapel South. Friends are kindly invited to participate by signing the memory book and viewing photographs which will be set up in the funeral home. Pallbearers include Terry Hall, Tim Hall, Tommy Hall, Robert McCants, Chris Berrian, and Joey Hall. There will be a graveside service open to all at Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS Pensacola, at 1:00 PM. Rev. Fredrick Henderson of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church will officiate. The funeral procession to Barrancas will begin promptly at 12:30 PM. Please arrive at Faith Chapel by 12:15 PM to ensure a timely departure.
