Samuel Hunter Jernigan

Samuel “Hunter” Jernigan, age 29, of Pace, Florida, passed away on Monday, October 2, 2023. He was born in Pensacola, Florida on September 12, 1994, to Samuel “Craig” Jernigan and Felicia Gail Nissen Molchanoff. Hunter believed family was everything. He was blessed to marry the love of his life, Nicole Ashley St. Jean Jernigan on August 24, 2019. He was gifted the honor of becoming the father of his twins, Harper Rae and Samuel “Harrison” Jernigan on September 7, 2020. Hunter touched many lives during his short time on earth. He was the life of the party and a lifeline for friends and family in their time of need. He made everyone feel like they were special and appreciated, even if that was through him aggravating them, and then flashing that big smile. He enjoyed music, all kinds of music. At any given moment you might have caught him singing along to Hank Williams, Jr., Merle Haggard, Conway Twitty, Frank Sinatra, Justin Bieber, Sam Hunt, Tina Turner, etc. Hunter also loved to fish, spend time with his family and friends and enjoy some good bourbon. The best days were when all those loves collided. Hunter had a strong work ethic. He was dedicated to his role as General Manager at The Dumpster Guy. He loved what he did, and he felt blessed to be able to build the company with his friend, Jack Galletta. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Freddie Leon Jernigan, his maternal step-grandfather William “Earl” Stringer Sr, his maternal grandmother, Beatrice “Denise” Stringer and his uncle, William Earl Stringer, Jr. “E.J.”. He is survived by his wife, Nicole Ashley Jernigan and their twins, Harper Rae and Samuel “Harrison” Jernigan; his father, Samuel “Craig” Jernigan; his mother, Felicia Gail Molchanoff; his stepfather, Matthew Molchanoff; his sister, Mary “Catherine” Jernigan; his uncle, David Earl Stringer, and many other beloved uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. His family would like to thank everyone for reaching out and sharing your love and stories. These gestures have been a welcomed reminder of how much he meant to so many and will be cherished memories for us all. Pallbearers will include: Jack Galletta, Joe Startzel, Brett Bennett, Brad Harvey, David Stringer, Zack St. Jean, Schuyler Sutter, Stephen Jernigan, and William Danie. Visitation services for Hunter Jernigan will begin at 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North (1000 South Highway 29, Cantonment). Funeral services will begin at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Clyde Hughes officiating. Guest speakers include: Jack Galletta, Joe Startzel, and Brett Bennett.
