Sally Muriel Salter

Born the youngest child and only daughter to Nick and Jewel Aaron on October 9, 1941. Sally was raised in Bay Minette, Alabama and lived there until her father’s passing. Soon thereafter, she and her mother moved to Pensacola, Florida. After high school Sally worked in retail downtown Pensacola, until accepting employment at Chemstrand, later known as Monsanto, Solutia and now Ascend. She retired from Solutia after 36 years of service. She was a loyal employee and had a work ethic that did not go unnoticed. She made many wonderful friends during her career and shared many great stories about her time at “the plant”. Sally and her late husband Rod both retired from Solutia and enjoyed a nice long retirement where they did a little traveling, golfing, camping in their RV, dancing, the occasional casino trip. . . they had fun! She invested much of her time and energy on her family. She had a huge heart where they were concerned and it brought her much pleasure to “take care of them”, “help them out”, and yes “spoil” them. She never shied away from showing her love and was proud of her family. She had a special and individual relationship with each of us that I’m sure we will all remember and treasure moving forward. Sally is preceded in death by her parents, Nick and Jewel Aaron, her husband of over 30 years, Rodwell Salter, her son, Richard Peaden and her special and beloved nephew, Leon B. “Pete” Aaron. Sally is survived by her daughter, Susan (Gary) Thompson, grandchildren Jessica (Thompson) Unsicker and Justin Thompson, her great grandchildren that lit up her world, Jordan Davidson and Addalyn Unsicker, Kim (Pete) Aaron of Phoenix, AZ, Cathy (Reed) Hafer of Pensacola, FL, sister-in-law June (Glenn) Aaron of St. Louis, MO and two special friends, Faye Morris, Molino, FL and Geraldine Goodson, Crestview, FL, Rod’s children, John (Rhonda) Salter (Salayna & Grady), Vera (Jim) Wiley, (Olivia and Abigail) and many nieces and nephews that loved their “Aunt Sally”. A special thank you to John and Rhonda for your love and concern for Sally. She had a special place in her heart for you both. Sally was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother/great grandmother, and friend. She lived a life full of love and laughter. We will miss her dearly, all the while cherishing our memories, our relationships, and the life we were fortunate enough to share with her. Graveside services will be Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at 1:00pm at Dean Cemetery in Bay Minette, Alabama. FAITH CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 1000 S.
