Rosa Antonio Cagle

Rosa Antonio (Cabuhat) Cagle, age 91, beloved mother and grandmother of two, peacefully passed away surrounded by her loved ones at home on the evening of July 16th, 2023. Rosa was born on September 5th, 1931 in Cavite City, Philippines. After marrying her husband, Perry they traveled the globe with their children, Lisa and Bill in tow as they navigated various duty stations throughout the years. Eventually, they found their forever home in Pensacola, FL, where Rosa resided for over five decades. A devoted Catholic, Rosa made a vow that if Jesus would heal her son Bill’s hearing, she would work without compensation cleaning a church as a penance. True to her word, she diligently fulfilled her pledge by spending countless hours over her lifetime cleaning St. John’s Catholic Church where her funeral will be held. Rosa loved to play bingo, harbored a deep affection for animals, and delighted in dancing (even in her wheelchair). Her cherished nickname, “crazy grandma”, reflected her spunky personality that everyone knew and adored her for. Rosa’s unwavering patriotism for her adopted country was evident to all who came into contact with her as she frequently decorated and accessorized with the flag. Her radiant presence illuminated every room she entered and she never met a stranger. Rosa’s tenacity, infectious smile, and quick wit will forever be missed. She truly was “everyone’s grandma” and the world was a better place with Rosa in it. Rosa is preceded in death by her mother, Magdalena Cabuhat, father Cresencio Cabuhat, twin sister Remedios Kent, and her husband Perry Cagle. She is survived by her son William Cagle and daughter-in-love Amelia Leikness Cagle, daughter Lisa Cagle, and granddaughters Sarah (Cagle) Coleman (Bryce Coleman) and Sara Leikness. Rosa is also survived by her sisters Ellen Fores, Lilia Monzon and Candida Cabuhat as well as brothers Rustico Cabuhat, Antonio Cabuhat and Cristostomo Cabuhat and Fernando Cabuhat. Although Rosa was known for her incredible luck winning several big prizes from bingo and lottery tickets alike, we are the true winners for having had her in our lives. She enriched and blessed everyone she met, a truly gentle and loving soul. Her energy is no longer bound by time and space. May the mark she left when she touched each of our hearts never fade ♥️ Visitation will begin at 10:30am until 11:30am Monday, July 24, 2023 at St John Catholic Church, Pensacola, Florida. Funeral services will begin Monday, July 24, 202 at 11:30am following visitation with Father John Licari officiating. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery at 1:00PM.
