Robert Carlton Foust

Robert Carlton “Bob” Foust (74), a loving and devoted husband and dad, went home to be with God on August 7, 2021, after a long battle with cancer. He was born on April 18, 1947, in Crestview, Florida, to Calvin Coolidge and Effie “Pat” (Nathey) Foust. Bob grew up in Pensacola and graduated from Pensacola High School in 1965 and then joined the United States Air Force and served his country for 5-1/2 years. He joined the Air Force and attended Basic Training at Lackland AFB, Texas. He later was assigned in Washington, DC and transferred to Hurlburt – Eglin Air Force Base until being assigned a 9-month tour in Turkey. Upon returning to Hurlburt, Bob then ended his military career and entered civilian life once again. Bob worked at Saint Regis, Coke Cola Company, and then became an over the road truck driver for United Van Lines out of Jacksonville, FL; and later drove for Paul Arpin Van Lines where he became an owner operator of his own 18-wheeler. During these years, Bob worked with some wonderful people and got to see the lower 48 states. He enjoyed his 30 plus year career as a truck driver and upon retiring he returned home to Pensacola, FL from California. After returning home to Pensacola, FL, he met a young lady and her two daughters and he fell head over heels in love with her and her daughters. On April 3, 2010, Bob and Etta, the love of his life, married, Bob adopted their daughters, they all took Bob’s last name of Foust, and their little family was whole and complete. Bob was a loving husband and dad who would do any and everything in his power for his family. He was a very family orientated man who put his wife and daughters first. While being retired, Bob lived out the rest of his days of leisure with his wife and daughters. He enjoyed attending races at Five Flags Speedway, enjoyed NHRA (National Hot Rod Association) races and rooting for his favorite drivers, was a member of the NRA (National Rifle Association), and at one time owned and raced his own race car. Robert “Bob” is survived by his wife, Henerietta Foust, their daughters: Isabel Nichole (Izzy) Foust and LaLina Noel (Lina) Foust as well as his daughter Angela Renee Fischer (Jimmy), son: Robert Carlton Higgins, one brother: Richard Foust (Susan): a very special and best friend: Joseph “Joe” Langton, and also a host of other family members to include grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and others who he loved and who also loved him dearly. Bob is preceded in death by his beloved parents: Calvin and Pat Foust, brother: James “Jimmy” Halford, previous wife Evelyn Yvonne (Cadle) Foust, daughter: Michelle Courtney Foust, a wonderful uncle: Jack Ellis Nathey, his maternal and paternal grandparents, and numerous other loved ones who are awaiting for him beyond the pearly gates of heaven. Pallbearers will be Joe Langton, Josh Langton, Regis Brun, and members of the NWFL PGS (Patriot Guard Riders). A special thank you to the pallbearers and to the NWFL PGR for stepping in as the remaining pallbearers as well as escorting Bob to Barrancas National Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to join in remembering Bob at: Faith Chapel Funeral Home (South), located at 100 Beverly Pkwy, Pensacola, FL. Robert’s “Bob’s” viewing will be held on Thursday August 19, 2021 from 5pm-7pm, his funeral will be held on Friday August 20, 2021 beginning at 12:30pm, and internment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery aboard Pensacola Naval Air Station (NAS Pensacola).
