Robert "Bobby" Malcolm Rawson

Robert "Bobby" Rawson, 89, of Pensacola, FL, peacefully passed away on August 6, 2023. He was a devout man of God, guided by his unwavering faith and steadfast love for his fellow beings. Born on January 9, 1934, in Pensacola, FL, to the late Malcolm Leon Rawson and Ethel Crawford Rawson, Bobby's life was a testament to humility, gratitude, and respect for all of creation. He is preceded in death by his mother Ethel Crawford Rawson, his father Leon Malcolm Rawson, his first wife Catherine Hathaway Rawson; his sister Donna Faye Enfinger, and his two dearly missed sons Daniel Kirby Rawson and Malcolm Keith Rawson. Bobby answered the call of duty and served his country with distinction in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. His military service instilled in him a profound sense of duty and loyalty that he carried throughout his life. Guided by the light of his faith, Bobby walked a path of kindness, charity, and compassion. He believed that every situation, no matter how challenging, rested firmly in the hands of his beloved Creator. His unshakeable trust in God brought comfort and solace to those around him. Bobby lived his life with a joyous spirit and a contagious sense of humor. Laughter echoed in every room he entered, for he had an enchanting ability to turn the ordinary moments of life into extraordinary memories. From his practical jokes to his uplifting presence, he left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him. In his career as a Master Plumber, Bobby's astounding people skills shone brightly, leading him to rise in ranks and become a respected wholesale plumbing sales representative. In 1978, he embarked on a journey of entrepreneurship, establishing Active Supply Wholesale Plumbing and Heating, a venture that exemplified his remarkable work ethic and determination. The last 16 years of his life he was part of a close work family at Southern Pipe and Supply where he was known as a Pensacola Legend. However, Bobby's true treasures resided in the blessings of his family. He shared his last years with his beloved wife Evelyn Brown, affectionately known as EB. He is survived by his five adored daughters: Donna (Jim) Blankenship, Rena' (Ken) Killam, Dr. Micha Pitzen, Courtney (Rob) Chelico, and Casey Jones. The laughter and love he cultivated continued to resonate, extending to his 20 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Bobby's shining example of devotion, care, and unconditional love will forever guide and inspire generations to come. He held his cherished sisters, Joann Behrens and Irene (Jimmy) Nelson, close to his heart and bestowed his affections upon numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends, whose love and friendship enriched his life beyond measure. Bobby was a faithful disciple, finding solace and spiritual nourishment at Hillcrest Baptist Church. He deeply cherished his Sunday School class, where he sat under the wisdom and teachings of Lee Carnley, absorbing the lessons of love, forgiveness, and the power of community. His Christian convictions guided his every action, and his lasting impact on those around him spoke volumes about the depth and genuineness of his faith. In his leisure time, Bobby enjoyed pursuing various hobbies. He was an avid golfer, spending countless Saturdays on the golf course until 2020. Fishing, spending cherished moments with friends and family, and bowling were among his other cherished pastimes. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Bobby will be held at Faith Chapel on Beverly Parkway, Pensacola, FL, on August 26, 2023, at 3:00 PM. Family will be received at 2:00 PM prior to memorial service. During this solemn gathering of friends and family, we will remember and honor the legacy that Bobby leaves behind. His life serves as a gentle reminder of the beauty found in a life well-lived and the tremendous impact one soul can have on others. In his humility, gratitude, and unwavering love for all, Bobby embodied the essence of what it means to be a faithful servant of God. As we mourn his passing, let us also rejoice in the knowledge that he now rests eternally in the embrace of his Creator. May his soul find eternal peace and may his memory serve as a beacon of inspiration for us all.
