Michael Robert Goul

Michael R. Goul, born May 21, 1940, in Muncie, Indiana, to Robert Goul and Marcella Parcher Goul, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. Michael’s formative years took him across the world, where he graduated from Bremerhaven High School in Germany. He spent his last two months of high school at Notre Dame High School in Biloxi, MS, before attending Mississippi State University, earning a Bachelor of Arts. After college, Michael proudly served his country as a pilot in the United States Air Force, where he flew jets and served in the Office of Special Investigations. His post-military career saw him working in the insurance industry, owning a carpet cleaning business, and working in Gulf Coast casinos. Additionally, he held a HAM radio license under the call sign K5TVU. Michael’s love for bridge, a game he learned from his parents, flourished throughout his life. As a member of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Bridge Club in Gulfport, MS, and the Pensacola Duplicate Bridge Club, he not only played but also taught and directed games, sharing his passion with others. An enthusiastic golf fan, Michael taught at the Gulfport par-three course, enjoying the company of young players. He also spent countless hours fishing for bass and hunting in the great outdoors. His commitment to bow hunting led him to join the Panhandle Bowhunters and Archery Association in Pensacola. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Marcella Goul; his brother, John Goul; and his grandson, Michael (Bean) Robert Goul III. He is survived by his beloved wife, Deborah Hagy-Goul; his children, Teri Quick (Ray), Michael R. Goul II (Deb), and John Goul (Julie); stepson, Rush Hagy Jr.; and four grandchildren, Zach Goul (Dana), Jessica Goul, Elizabeth Goul, and Aly Ellingburg (Dalton). He also leaves behind his sister, Kay Sones (Thomas); brother, Dan Goul (Jo Linda); sister in law, Betty Goul, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 31, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home on Beverly Parkway, with a visitation beginning one hour prior. Burial will be at a later date at the Biloxi National Cemetery.
