Marie June Bobo

Marie June Hollihand Bobo, 96, went home to be with our Lord on April 15, 2019 at West Florida Covenant Hospice after a brief illness. She was born August 15, 1922 in Pensacola, Florida. She was blessed with five children Marie, Karen, Pam, Kevin and Alice. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pensacola but has been attending St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Milton, Florida for the past year and a half. She was a natural born caregiver while she worked at Petree School and then at Escambia Westgate School with mentally and physically challenged students. After her retirement, she looked after her two brothers when they were ill and unable to care for themselves. June was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Robert “Talmadge” Bobo and infant son Thomas Robert Bobo, Jr.; parents, Thomas Octave Hollihand, Sr. and Alice May Hollihand; brothers, Thomas Octave Hollihand, Jr. and Robert Hollihand, Sisters; Sister Mary Mechtilde, OSB, and Virginia Dare Smoot; Grandchildren, Donald Shane Lewis and Christina Ryan Malicoat. June is survived by her sisters, Ruth Matthews and Annette Hollihand of Pensacola, Fl., her children, Marie Anne Kendrick (George) of Kinard, FL., Karen Lynn Lewis (Michael), of Pace, FL., Pamela Sue Dailey (Glen), of Milton, Fl., Kevin Bobo (Nikkie), of Slidell, LA., and Mary Alice Williams, of Pace, FL., 12 Grandchildren, 43 Great Grandchildren and 5 Great-Great Grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Faith Chapel South on Friday, April 19, 2019. Family at 3;30 p.m., friends & family from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Services will be held at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Milton, FL. on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Our dear mother will be laid to rest at Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS; however, there will be no graveside services due to it being a Saturday service. Pallbearers will be Charles Wayne Fuller, David Jeremy Kendrick, Jason Scott Kendrick, Jared Lee Kendrick, Aaron Michael Lewis and Christopher Thomas Lewis. Honorary Pallbearers will be Michael Glen Fuller and Luke Scott Kendrick. Our family would like to thank the Covenant Hospice nurses and CNA’s of the Pensacola and Marianna, Fl. offices as well as West Florida Covenant Care for their tender and compassionate care of our mother for the past six months. You are all near and dear to our hearts and we will always remember you. We could not have given her the proper care without you. Thank You
