Larry "Joe" Hodge

Joe Hodge July 8, 1950 ~ October 22, 2015 Larry “Joe” Hodge was 65 years old when he left his earthly body and went home to his Lord. He was born on July 8, 1950 and was welcomed into the arms of God on October 22, 2015 following complications from a heart attack at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, Florida. Joe lived most of his life in Pensacola, Florida and was a graduate of the 1968 class of Escambia High School (EHS). He served his country as a member of the United States Army Reserves. Joe retired from Bell South / AT&T after over 30 years of service as a Lineman and Service Technician including living and working for ten of those years in Savannah, Georgia. Joe had an extraordinary love for animals of which he and Mickey have a house full. Football was his favorite sport. He loved the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Green Bay Packers. He also loved to fish. He was a very loving and compassionate man who will be greatly missed by all. He was preceded in death by his son, Chip Hall and his parents, Radford and Lonnie McQueen Hodge. Joe is survived by his best friend and wife of over 41 years, Margie “Mickey” Jones Hodge; brother, Bill Hodge (Frances); sister, Patty Hodge Petrucci; four nieces, Teri Hodge Bilbrey, Tracy Hodge Dennis (John), Deidre Petrucci Wallace (Mike), and Kristen Petrucci; as well as many other relatives and friends. Joe is also survived by his beloved dogs, Saban and Sweetie, his cat, Pawz and his parrots, Zazu, Hoss and Pretty Bird. The family will receive friends at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South, on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South, with Pastor Bill Hodge officiating. Pallbearers will be Mark Bowman, John Dennis, James Fenstermaker, Charlie Freeman, Bill Hodge, and Tom Jones.
