Judith "Judy" Ann Helms Alt

"The image is just the beginning". Our dearly loved, Judith Ann Helms Alt, departed this world Sunday afternoon surrounded by her loving family. Judy entered the world on April 18th, 1948 in Pensacola, FL, the 7th of 8 children of Bernard and Mary Dee Helms, née Renfroe. Judy enjoyed her school years, graduating from Escambia High School in June 1966 having participated in her high school Distributing Education Program for banking. Judy began working as a teller at Warrington Bank during her senior year of high school. Banking and finance became her well-chosen vocation. She served with distinction until retiring from Sun Trust Bank in Spring Hill FL, in 2008. Throughout her employment career, Judy was consistently recognized for her attendance and customer service accolades. Always one to throw herself into learning new skills, Judy taught herself to crochet at the level many would believe to be characterized as a master level. She was known to create beautifully designed afghans, hats, sweaters, and baby booties that were inspired by her first Great Grandchild. She would devote many long hours to crocheting an afghan, then graciously turn the work of her beautiful hands into a gift, without letting anyone know except the recipient. Judy was modest, yet generous in her spirit of sharing. Judy enjoyed singing, learning to play the piano, Elvis music, (especially his gospel music!) good rock n roll. She also enjoyed attending concerts with Kim and her spouse, Rob Chaplin, as well as with Rebecca, Rachael, Becky or whomever was available to join her! Judy is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Ann Przyzycki (Rob) Chaplin; grandchildren, Rebecca E. McAllister, A1C Joshua R. Chaplin, Rachael A. Chaplin, sisters, Shirley (Ken) Guy of Missoula, MT and Becky (Robert) Hice; many nieces, nephews, and many, many friends in Spring Hill, FL, and St. Louis, MO, who will long remember Judy's love of life, incredible strength and courage. And we dare not overlook that Judy is also survived by her beloved Great Grandson, “My Sunshine”, Oliver Anthony. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Rev. Bill Flannigan, officiating. Burial will follow in Myrtle Grove Cemetery Family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at the funeral home.
