John S Bartoszewicz

“ John S. Bartoszewicz, 83, of Pensacola, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 22, 2021, after a decade long battle with Parkinson’s disease. Born in Rochester, New York, son of John and Florence, he is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carolyn Myers Bartoszewicz, his son John (Sandy), daughter Karen Elmore (Roger), son Michael, brother Ronald (Patricia) and grandchildren Scott and Jenna. He moved his family to Pensacola in the early 1970’s as a Chemical Engineer with Monsanto and later worked with Foxboro Corporation and Invensys, Ltd. His business travels took him to six of the seven continents and over 60 countries including Israel, Japan, Germany, Brazil, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, China, England, France, and Italy to name a few. He spent his final working years living and working in India. Among his many accomplishments he held degrees from the University of Detroit, 1960, B.S. in Chemical Engineering; St. Louis University, 1968, B.A. in Business Management; and The University of West Florida, 1976, M.B.A. in Business Management, where he later served as an adjunct Professor. He was always grateful to be member of the inaugural class of lay Deacons in the Catholic church and was ordained on May 10, 1980. He was a founding member and original Deacon for Nativity of Our Lord Parrish from 1980-1982 and again in 2003-2014. He also served as Parrish Administrator and Deacon for St. Jude of Thaddeus (Cantonment) 1982-2003 and as Deacon and Parrish Administrator for St. Elizabeth (Molino) 1983-2003. An avid golfer, John had the pleasure of playing some of the world’s greatest golf courses including St. Andrews, Winged Foot, Pebble Beach, Augusta County Club, Ballybunion, and he carded a hole in one at Stonebrook (Pace, FL). A memorial service is planned for 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church with a livestream available. The family would like to thank the staff at Bayside Rehabilitation and Health and Vistas Hospice for their kind and compassionate care in his final years. In lieu of flowers a donation to Hospice is greatly appreciated
