Artice Ray Holland

Artice R. Holland, 64, of Pensacola, FL passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014 after a brief illness. Artice was born on December 23, 1949 in Houston, TX and raised in Pensacola, FL by his parents Cecil and Hazel Holland. He was a graduate of Woodham High School and attended Pensacola Junior College. At an early age, Artice had a mind for business and a drive to be a man of integrity and hard work. He began at the age of 16 as a night porter at a local Burger King but knew God had bigger plans for his life. With a humble heart and tenacious spirit, Artice worked hard and moved up the ranks of management to become an owner/operator of his own Burger King restaurant. Once he acquired his first restaurant which became a successful establishment, he went on to own numerous Burger King Franchises and incorporate his business to A.R. Holland, Inc., which encompassed business ventures that spread throughout several counties. He loved to travel, shop, collect original guns and watches, ride his toys and spend quality time with dear friends and family. He is preceded in death by his father, Cecil Holland. He is survived by his mother, Hazel Holland; his son, Joseph Ray Holland; six brothers, Chester (Trish) Holland, Dallas (Beverly) Holland, Eston (Freda) Holland, Nathan (Donna) Holland, Melvin Holland, Kenny (Terri) Holland; one sister, Judy (Arthur) Jarman and numerous loving nieces and nephews. Artice valued loyalty and honesty in his business practices and his personal relationships. Three such friends stood out in Artice’s life, Tim Smith, Diana Ard and Sean Barrington. Tim was his long-time best friend but Artice thought of him like a son and valued his work ethic and integrity. Diana was his personal assistant and trusted friend. He loved her like a sister and entrusted many important business and personal matters to her care. While they were not born into the Holland family, Artice considered these employees “family” and loved them because of their selfless spirits and unconditional support. A visitation will be held on Monday, July 14, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with the Reverend Doug Barber officiating. Funeral services will follow immediately at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Pensacola Memorial Gardens.
