Virginia Ruth Fryar of Pensacola passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2012. She spent her final days surrounded by her loving family. Virginia was born August 20, 1925 in Georgiana, Al., the daughter of the late Pett and Eran Whittle. She is preceded in death by two brothers, Jesse and Julius Whittle, one sister, Eunice Mathews, and her beloved grandson, Adam Washinger. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 47 yrs., Jessie Fryar; her daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Jon Washinger; her son and daughter-in-law, Max and Becky Fryar; three wonderful grandchildren, Lucy Washinger, Christopher and Brandon Fryar; her dear sister, Mary Blackmon. She will always be remembered as Aunt Virgie to her four nephews, Terry Blackmon, Donnie Blackmon, Ronnie Mathews and Randy Mathews and her sweet nieces, Janie Sipper, Carol Sansom, and Oradell Christopher. She loved your weekly phone chats. Visitation will be held at Faith Chapel South, 100 Beverly Pkwy, Tuesday, June 12th, 11:30 a.m., followed by funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be at Bayview Memorial Park. Special thanks to the nurses and techs at the 2nd floor east Oncology, Sacred Heart Hospital, especially Maggie, you are amazing. Dr. Michelle Brandhorst, thank you for your understanding and guidance. To all the staff at Joyce Goldenberg Covenant Hospice, your compassion and kindness will never be forgotten.
