Sandra J. Williams Latner, age 65, born in Mobile, AL on January 9, 1946 and passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2011. She was a member of Spoken Word Church. She will be missed by her bed buddies, Chandi, Khandi and Precious. Sandra was a loving wife, a wonderful mother and a grandmother. She seemed to love everyone who she met. She fought a courageous battle with cancer for over 25 years. The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff of Select Specialty Hospital and Covenant Hospice for their special love and care. Special thanks to our family for all their support these last few days. She is preceded in death by her son, Kevin Scott Williams; father, Lewis Reaves; mother, Annie M. Tarkus; her stepfather who raised her, Eddie Tarkus; brother Leamon Reaves; her sister, Linda Hammond and her daughter-in-law, Lori A. Williams. She is survived by her loving husband, Tim Latner; her children, Todd Williams (Jessica), Keith Williams (Michelle), Mylinda Bowden Dougherty and Felecia Williams (Eugene); grandchildren, Michael Dougherty and Thomas Dougherty; brothers, Eric Tarkus and Norman Tarkus (Pauline); aunt, Lois Ketchum;12 dogs, 3 ducks, a squirrel, many chickens and roosters and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Pallbearers will be Fred Hutcherson, Richie Freeman, Eugene James, B.J. James, Bubba Middleton and Todd Williams. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South with Pastor Donnie Barrow officiating. Interment will follow at Jordan Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, October 14, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. FAITH CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME SOUTH, 100 Beverly Pkwy, is in charge of arrangements.
