Rodney Kent Brammer Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Rodney Kent Brammer was born on November 13, 1940 to Everett and Mamie Brammer. He was the youngest of three brothers, who proceed him in death. He passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2022 with the love of his family and in the arms of his wife, Vonia Faye Brammer. Rodney and Vonia just celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary. Rodney served twenty years in the United States Navy. He received Commendations for Heroic Conduct while serving in the Attack Squadron Thirty-Five aboard the USS Saratoga deployed in the Mediterranean Sea. Rodney’s last five years of service was as an Air Crewman for the Blue Angels. He can be spotted in Van Halen’s music video “Dreams” featuring the Blue Angels. Rodney had thirty years of Federal Service. Rodney and Vonia created a loving family that has grown over the years. They had three wonderful sons, Rodney Jr (Kassy Tyler), Joseph (Amanda), and David (Jenifer). Rodney had seven grandchildren, Matthew Cowan, Christopher (Stephanie) Macfarland, Samantha (Chris) Butler, Megan (Kyle) English, David (Brooke) Brammer Jr, and Jacquelyn (Michael) Brooks. He also had (soon to be) three great grandchildren, Conan Brooks, Eloise English and soon to arrive Rylee Brammer. Rodney liked to be going and doing. Rodney could often be found at the beach, enjoying the salty air while scavenging for shells or fishing in the gulf. While home, he would garden or tinker in his shops. He shared his love of adventure and the outdoors with his children and grandchildren. Often, you could find him in his garden planting and harvesting with grandchildren covered in dirt at his side. Rodney was loved by his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
