June 5, 1957 - March 28, 2022
Robert Andrew (Bob) Johnson passed away on March 28, 2022. Bob was born in Holland, Michigan and raised in Hartland where he played football, baseball and basketball. Bob made friends easily and if you were his friend, you were a friend for life. Bob moved south to Louisiana where he worked off shore on the oil rigs, on tug boats as a first mate. Through friends, he discovered Pensacola. Bob loved living and working in Pensacola. He worked first as a painter and then as a master electrician founding his own company, Pensacola Power and Light. Bob loved his work and he loved the people he worked with. Above all else, Bob loved his family. He was very proud of his sons, daughter and grandson. He coached baseball for both of his sons and softball for his daughter. Coach Bob was well loved. He loved his players and his players loved him. He had a profound impact on his kids. Bob was an avid fisherman who never hesitated to give advice on how to fish! His idea of a good time was baiting a hook and waiting for the fish to bite! He found his home on Herron Villa Bayou where he loved to fish, watch birds, animals, including an alligator he named Wardell. He loved spending time on the bayou with his partner and family. Bob spent the last twelve years of his life with his partner, Libby. They loved to take a few days off and go exploring with no plan or agenda. They loved spending time on the water, gardening and just hanging out. He was preceded in death by his son, Zachary. Bob is survived by his son, Nicholas Andrew Johnson; his daughter, Haley Morgan Johnson; his grandson, Zachary Andrew Johnson; his parents, Richard and Teresa Johnson; his sisters, Denise Johnson and Katrina (Mike) Kreyenhagen; his long-time partner, Libby Hollihand; and many nieces and nephews. His Memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South, at 3:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM prior to the service. Dr. Joe Sniezek will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity. Faith Chapel Funeral Home South, 100 Beverly Parkway, Pensacola, is entrusted with arrangements.
