    Melody Ann Jackson

    December 16, 1950 - June 20, 2022

Melody "Mel" Jackson passed away on June 20, 2022 after suffering a series of debilitating strokes. Melody was born in Austin, Texas, but grew up in Memphis, TN. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School and attended Memphis State University, where she met her future husband, Steve. They were introduced by Steve's mother, and it was truly love at first sight. Melody spent most of her life as a devoted Air Force wife & working for the US government in a myriad of jobs. She was a budget analyst with the National Security Agency, Defense Finance & Accounting Service and Department of the Army. Many of these positions were in Crete, Japan and Germany where Melody became a professional mover and home decorator. Melody was a wonderful homemaker who always had a positive outlook on everything she touched and everyone she met. After retirement, she enjoyed Jazzercise, her yard, and working part-time at Kirkland's and Everman's. She also loved spending time with her daughter, Kacey. They were known for marathon shopping, sampling desserts like it was their mission and dancing in the kitchen. This Mother and daughter were truly best friends and kindred spirits. She is preceded in death by her parents, Alex Trainer & Mildred Szczepanski Trainer of Buffalo, NY and her sister, Nancy Trainer, who resided in Pensacola. She also leaves behind her brother, Alan Trainer of Des Moines, Iowa. Her husband of 50 years, Steve Jackson, her daughter Jocelyn "Kacey" Briggs and her loving son-in-law, John Marcus Briggs, will miss her for the rest of their lives. She was the heartbeat, the rock and the soul of our little family...a true Angel on Earth. We request that a donation to Melody's favorite charity, St. Jude's Hospital, be given in lieu of flowers. Arrangements made by Faith Chapel Funeral 100 S. Beverly Parkway, Pensacola, Florida 32505.
