Melbourne M. “Mel” Marine, age 85 of Pensacola, FL passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2011. He retired from The United States Navy as a Sr. Chief with 25 years of service to his country serving in WWII, The Korean War and The Vietnam War. After his service in the Navy, he worked in construction until his final retirement at age 62. He is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Marine and two brothers, Gene and Jack Tinker. He is survived by his two daughters, Beverly Gunsley (Patrick) and Juanita deGraaf (Jerry); stepdaughter, Gillian Kelly (Mike); two granddaughters, Melody Walker and Amanda Lewis (Steve); four great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Gunsley, Devon Bumpus, Javier Montemayor and Raquel Evans; brother, Duane Tinker; sister, Arlene Armstrong (Virgil) and his girlfriend, Tina Lawler. Pallbearers will be The United States Navy Honor Guard. Funeral Services will be held at 8:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South. Committal service will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, FL The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. FAITH CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME SOUTH, 100 Beverly Pkwy, is in charge of arrangements.
