Mary M. Cooper

August 26, 1945 - May 20, 2022

Mary M. Cooper, 76, of Pensacola, FL unexpectedly went to be with Jesus on May 20, 2022. Mary had a strong Christian faith and attended Bellview Baptist Church, where she often taught Sunday School. She was a devoted educator having spent most of her career as a middle school teacher at Sacred Heart Cathedral School before retiring. Mary was a stern but loving teacher whose goal was to ensure every student who entered her classroom, left a skilled writer. She loved her time at Sacred Heart where her work family became cherished lifelong friends. She touched the lives and sharpened the vocabulary skills of countless students over the years. As much as she enjoyed teaching, her favorite title was “Nanny” to her beloved granddaughters. Mary will be greatly missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Monica & Rick Bobe, granddaughters, Kara Bobe and Peyton Bobe, future grandson in-law, Justin Womack and her special rescue grand dog, Khloe. The family would like to thank the staff at Sacred Heart Ascension Oncology, especially Dr. Alex Brown who she called her hero, the wonderful ladies of her Sunday School class and her dear neighbors Robert and Gyl Duke. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, at First Baptist Church of Pensacola – Pleitz,Chapel on Wednesday, May 25, 2022. A Memorial Service will follow at 11:00. Dr. Dale Patterson will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Samaritan’s Purse Ministry. 2 Corinthians 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
