Joseph Dewey Wallis (Jose, Buddy), 69, passed away peacefully with his wife of over 50 years Encarna by his side on June 29, 2012, in Pensacola, Florida. A funeral mass will be held at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at Saint Paul Catholic Church followed immediately by interment at Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS Pensacola, FL. A native of Birmingham, Alabama, and graduate of Woodlawn High School, he joined the Navy spending a 30 year career in Naval Aviation maintenance retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer Four. After retirement from the Navy, Joe went back to school to study Respiratory Therapy serving and caring for others in this field for a number of years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, and working with his hands. He spent many years restoring antique clocks and was able to fix anything he worked on. Jose is survived by his wife, Encarnacion; four children and their spouses, Maria and Robert Russell, Joe and Shannon Wallis, Debbie and Sam Ridder, and Carmen and Randy White, as well as 13 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
