Joseph “Joe” Bradford Padilla Sr. passed away on May 9, 2022 in his hometown of Pensacola, FL. Joe was a proud Union Millwright for local union 1192 beginning in 1971, keeping his union book current and annual dues paid well into his retired years. He was a man of many hobbies and passions. He enjoyed woodwork and being outdoors. Joe loved music, both listening and playing as a self taught pianist, guitarist, and drummer. He could often be found enjoying songs from artists such as The Doobie Brothers, The Carpenters, The Beatles and Joe Cocker. Joe was an avid collector of John F. Kennedy memorabilia, owning an impressive array of books, campaign materials, photographs and more. He was a friend to all animals, with an especially large place in his heart for his beloved dogs. Most of all, Joe treasured spending his time enjoying his family and friends. He married the love of his life, Paula, in 1980. Together they had three children, and later 7 grandchildren. Joe’s family would like to give a special thanks to his dear friend Bianca Bumpus and Hospice nurse, Paula, for being a tremendous source of support and comfort in his last days. His wife Paula is forever grateful for the love and care you gave. Joseph is preceded in death by his sister, Jeannie Padilla Sandoval; brothers, Ben Charles Padilla, Jr. and Bruce David Padilla; his parents, Catherine Paulk Padilla and Ben Charles Padilla, Sr. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Paula Riise Padilla; son Joseph B. (Kerri) Padilla, Jr.; son Michael (Ashley) Padilla; daughter Samantha (Sean) Padilla; his siblings, Brian (Kathy) Padilla; Blane (Becky) Padilla; Benita (Paul) Padilla and Jason Padilla Sr.; and his grandchildren Lily Padilla, Joseph Padilla III, Audrey Padilla, Luke Padilla, Zachary Padilla, Jacob Padilla, and Blake Padilla. Family will receive friends at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South on Saturday, May 14, 2022 from 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM. The funeral service will be held at Little Flower Catholic Church on Monday, May 16, 2022 at 10:00 AM, officiated by Reverend Matthew Worthen. Burial to follow immediately afterwards at Holy Cross Cemetery. Pallbearers are Riley Fowler, Markus McLain, Jackie Hicks, Jr., Jonathan Padilla, Sean Davis, and Samantha Padilla.
