    John Wesley McIntyre Sr

    January 7, 1949 - May 5, 2022

John Wesley McIntyre Sr, age 73, a loving father of eight children, and supportive husband to Minnie Lee McIntyre, passed away the morning of May 5th after fighting a hard battle to recover from a challenging surgery. John was born in 1949 in Minter, Alabama and grew up surrounded by cherished loved ones, had 11+ siblings and a lot of aunts and uncles. John was a hardworking man and started his first job at the age of 9 years old working at a fishing pond cleaning fish. This was the start of his strong work ethics that he instilled in all of his children. He met his wife in 1968 and they fell in love and got married in 1970. As a father, he taught his children to always respect others, always do your best, and to always love your family no matter what. John was a grandfather and a great grandfather to 48 grandchildren that he spoiled and love very dearly. They called him Pawpaw. In his free time, John enjoyed numerous amounts of outdoor activities such as Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Fishing, Tennis, Yardwork, Mechanic work, Woodworking and his favorite of all times Golf! He believed in staying active and keeping a clean house. John will be greatly missed by his family and especially his 8 children: John Jr., Tanya, Keith, Zoa, Zechariah, Curtis, Kenneth, and Sheila who loved him with all of their hearts. To Our Father: Dad, it hurts us deeply to see you go but we know that you love us so much and you are proud of each and every one of us. We are glad you are no longer suffering, and you are resting peaceful now. We will continue to make you proud, take care of our mom, and take care of each other. Love from us all John was predeceased by his mother, Margaret, his father, Bruna, his son, John Jr., his brothers L.C. and Julius, and his great-granddaughter, Somaya. He is survived by his wife, Minnie, his children, Tanya, Keith, Zoa, Zechariah, Curtis (Suronico), Kenny, Sheila (Mario), his stepfather, James Sr., his brothers, Robert, James Jr. (Doris), Melvin, Arthur, Sylvester, his sisters, Thelma (Carl), Brenda Lee, Thelma (Samuel), Mary Pearl, Joann, his daughter in law, Evon, his grandchildren, Dijon, Amirah, Darius, Halimah, Jay, Sadiq, Teontral, Kiahna, Zander, Dominic, Jayden, Nikolai, Miley, Arianna, Ayden, Wesley, Ashton, Myrah James, Ezekiel, Devaughn, Briana, and many other family members that loved him dearly.
