John D. 'Dan' Kearsey

John D. “Dan” Kearsey, age 80, died Saturday December 3, 2011. Dan was a retired Master Chief from the US Navy and had also retired from Civil Service. He was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Warrington Elks Lodge #2108, Knights of Columbus, and Fleet Reserve. Dan was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Margaret Kearsey; parents; brothers Francis and Eugene Kearsey; and sister, Marie Kearsey Alsdorph. He is survived by his 4 children: Paul Kearsey (Jennifer), Peter Kearsey, Patrick Kearsey, and Tricia Maggio (Brent) and by numerous other loving family members. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 8, 2011 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church with Father John Licari officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and continue until services begin. A Committal service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, December 9, 2011 at Barrancas National Cemetery will US Navy Honor Guard. The family extends its heartfelt thanks to Dr. Blackmon and his staff and to the staff of The Haven of Our Lady of Peace, especially to those of Serenity Court who gave much care and support to our father during his stay. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Catholic Charities (1000 W. Garden Street, Pensacola, FL 32501). Faith Chapel Funeral Home South, 100 Beverly Parkway, is in charge of the arrangements.
