Joan Harper Plischke, born March 31, 1938, died September 21, 2012. She was fond of anything lemon and she especially liked lemons in her sweet tea, which she was never without. As a younger woman, she loved to sew. Her favorite pastime was reading—books were her life! She was always a constant and loving caregiver; NURSING was her occupation before her retirement. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest treasures! Her favorite food was chocolate; she often said, “If there’s no chocolate in heaven, I ain’t goin’!” She is survived by her daughter, Sandie Anderson of Bessemer, AL; her granddaughter, Lynsi Anderson of Tampa, FL; her grandson, Justin Anderson; her great-grandson, Jonas Anderson; her great-granddaughter, Kasayna Anderson, all of Bessemer, AL; her sister, Christy Parker; her nephew, Harper Lyle; and her niece, Kelyn Martin, all of Hartselle, AL. Visition will be Sunday, September 23, 2012 from 2:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, 2:00 p.m. September 25, 2012, at Roselawn Cemetery, Decatur, AL. with Chaplain Glenn Winter officiating.
