George Edward Brown Sr

George E. Brown, Sr., passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Sacred Heart Hospital. George was known as Eddie to family and friends but the names he cherished most were Dad and Grandpa. George was a native of Pensacola. He was a devoted father and grandfather. He had a strong faith and was looking forward to meeting God. He loved watching racing and old westerns, animals, and spending time with family. George graduated from Pensacola Catholic High School in 1961 and received an Associates of Science Degree in Law Enforcement from Pensacola Junior College. George was a retired Captain with the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office after thirty-five years of service. Throughout his career, he took on many responsibilities and held various positions within the department. George is a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. George is preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie Wheat Brown and father, George J. Brown Jr. George is survived by his son, George E. Brown, Jr. (Tonjia); son, Timothy Brown (Julie); daughter, Melissa Kramer (Eric); daughter, Amanda Ray (Matt) and daughter, Ashley Brown; 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; sisters, Anne Green, Mary Lee Terry and Eva Brown; brothers, Joseph Brown, Laurence Brown and Michael Brown; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Visitation will be Monday February 7, 2022, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at 11:00 AM, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Father Dominic Phan Sa will be Celebrant. Interment will be at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Stephen Brown, Simon Brown, Eric Kramer, Matt Ray, Landon Ray, Kody Stutts, Jeremy Jarman and Laurence Brown, Jr. Faith Chapel Funeral Home South, 100 Beverly Parkway, Pensacola, is entrusted with arrangements.
