Forrest B Edgar Jr Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Pete Edgar was born March 3, 1943 and passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2022 on a family trip. Pete graduated from Escambia High School and attended PJC. He joined his father and brothers in the home building business and the pool building business. He was also a long time Real Estate Broker and member of the Pensacola Association of Realtors. He remained a part of these rewarding careers his entire life and worked every day right up to the week he passed away. Pete was predeceased by his Mother Catherine Ortet Edgar Matthews and his father Forrest B Edgar, Sr., his brother Jerry Allen Edgar, his brother-in-law William (Bill) Howell and his nephews Jeffery Edgar and Tony Farrington. His four children Petey (10), Charles Brett (21), Kimberly Lassiter (45) and Forrest Maier Edgar (32). The passing of his children was the heart break of his life. But together we stayed strong and forged ahead to continue a successful life. Pete is survived by the Love of his life, his wife of 45 years Cynthia (Cindy) Edgar. His daughters April Blackwell and Melanie Edgar whom he adored and was so happy to be with until the end. His adored grandchildren Astley Devoe Blackwell V, (Quent), Lee Ann Snider, Meadow Edgar, Ellie Edgar, and Willow Edgar. They were the light of his life. My instructions from him were to make sure they had everything they needed and most of what they wanted. Pete had grandchildren from his deceased daughter, Kimberly, whom he admired greatly for their success in life and for being great people, Patrick Lassiter and his wife Brooke, and their daughter Kenleigh, Savanna Lassiter and daughter Alyssa. He is also survived by his attentive sister Sue Howell and his brothers Ronnie Edgar and wife Sandy and Dwain Edgar, nephews Kevin Edgar, Brian Sasser and Jerry Edgar, Jr. Nieces Kris Edgar, Catherine Paulchek, Monica Howard and Sabil Edgar. Many friends, Business Associates, and subcontractors, our loyal and gracious work team, Teddy Morado and Jennifer Gardner whom he felt blessed to have. Pete was a hard working, talented builder and was thrilled to have his son, Forrest Maier obtain a degree in building and engineering and join him in Forrest Homes until his death in 2016. Pete has been involved in building hundreds of homes in the surrounding area. He always said his hobby was working. He also enjoyed NASCAR racing and attended many races around the country. He also loved going to the Beau Rivage where he spent his last couple of days upon his wishes. We often joked that it was home away from home. We will forever miss this great man, his strength and his courage to go on when times were tough, his love for all of us, and his desire to make sure we all had what we needed and most of what we wanted. We will live our life waiting to be reunited in Heaven with him. Here’s to a wonderful long life together, we Love you so much and we will see you after a while as he always said. Let the skies open for this shall give us the peace that the soul has passed over into God’s Kingdom and then restore us with sunlight. Pensacola, FL 32507 Thursday, July 7 at 6:00 pm. Family visitation will begin at 4:30 followed by open visitation from 5:00-6:00.
