    Eugene Talmadge (Bud) McDonald

    December 25, 1933 - May 7, 2012

    Eugene Talmadge (Bud) McDonald passed away Monday, May 7, 2012. He was the son of Mamie K. McDonald and Clinton W. McDonald of Glasscock County, Georgia. Bud was born December 25, 1933 in Edgehill, Georgia. Bud moved to Augusta, Georgia in 1942 attended John S. Davidson and Lawton B. Evans grade schools. He left Augusta Richmond Academy to join the Navy in December 1950 serving in the Korean Conflict (War) until 1954. The Navy Diving won his love of the sea. He moved to Pensacola, Florida in 1956 and was hired by Gulf Power Company. He loved his company and friends and stayed with the company for 40 years. In 1960 along with his friends in the diving world he helped form the National Association of Underwater Instructors (NAUI) a member until his death, over forty eight years. He also was a charter member of the Escambia Search & Rescue for Pensacola and proudly served for 24 years. He was an instructor for the American Red Cross for 25 years. He was an EMT instructor through the American Heart Association for 20 years. Bud was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy (Dottie) Fish McDonald, his mother Mattie Kitchens Bowers, his father Clinton W. McDonald and brother Junior McDonald of Augusta, Georgia. Survivors include his daughter Diane and Liam Lee of Austin, Texas, sister Sherry and Jim Sanders of Clearwater, South Carolina and their kids Marty, Debbie and Darla, his grandchildren, Brittani Beasley, Elliot and Owen Lee of Austin, Texas, his mother-in-law Carolyn Fish of Austin, Texas, a special love Jeanelle McKissack and son Eddie of Atmore, Alabama, The Suttle family of Fairhope, Ted, Theresa, Sarah and Rebecca, The Kitchens clan, The Barber clan, The McDonald clan, The Sanders clan and The Hilson clan. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North-Cantonment. Interment will be at Fellowship Baptist Cemetery in Glasscock County, Georgia on Monday, Sheppard Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 12, 2012.
