Obituary for Cordell "Red" Hooper
Cordell “Red” Hooper, 81, of Ashland City Tenn., went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, February 28, 2021. He resided in Pensacola, FL for the past 20 years and was of the Baptist faith. He was a 20 year United States Navy Vietnam Veteran. He retired from the Army Corp of Engineers after 18 years of service. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be truly missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frances and Naomi Hooper, and 14 brothers. Red is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Carol Hooper, of Gap Mills, West Virginia; daughters, Susan and Mike Mayo, and Beth and Scott Hughes; son, Gene and Shannon Willis; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, March 29, 2021, at 10:00 AM, at Faith Chapel South Funeral Home. Interment will be at Fort Barrancas National Cemetery with full military honors.
