Alvin Clyde Higdon

Alvin Clyde Higdon, age 74, went home to be with Jesus on August 30, 2011 after a long battle with heart disease. He was a Civil Service Worker at the Naval Air Station Pensacola for 35 years. He enjoyed his job and made many friends there. He was a long time member of East Brent Baptist Church and had a passion for people, old cars, NASCAR races, and gospel singing. He attended many car shows with a long time dear friend, Louis Sevick. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin B. and Delores Higdon. He loved his family and was a loving and devoted grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Carmellina (Lena), his sons, Paul Alvin and Mark Clyde, and daughter Alisa Ann (Douglas) Dillard. He leaves behind 5 precious grandchildren Samantha Grace and Joshua Allen Higdon; Stephen Douglas, Jason Alvin and Kara Annalise Dillard, and 1 great grandchild, Nicholas Mark Higdon. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North-Cantonment with Brother Dale Patterson officiating. Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
