William "Bill" Thomas Dubose

William “Bill” Thomas Dubose 1936-2015 William “Bill” Thomas Dubose, 79, born August 2, 1936, was called home by his Lord and Savior, Sunday August 2, 2015. His was surrounded by his devoted family and the very compassionate staff of the Joyce Goldenberg Residence, affiliate of Covenant Hospice. Bill was born and raised in Red Level, Alabama of Covington County. In the spring of 1955, he graduated from Red Level High school. Shortly after his graduation, he made the choice to enlist with the Army National Guard and after his training was stationed in Jacksonville, Florida. While there, he met and married Lettie Josephine Delp. He was a devoted and loving husband to her during the brief time that God allowed them to have here on earth. She passed away on February 3, 1967. However, God did not mean for Bill to spend his days on earth alone, he once again blessed him with a beautiful women to have as his wife. He married Clara Eleanor McGhee on March 2, 1968. Shortly into their marriage they made the decision to move their family to Pensacola, Florida, Escambia County. Pensacola is where they raised their children and resided until his passing. Bill, forever being the family man, was a devoted husband and loving father to his children. In fact he was devoted and loving to all of his family, parents, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, were always shown love and respect. He always wanted everyone to know the importance of family. Bill was also a very loyal and caring friend to many. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. He had a very big heart and it showed in his every day life. Bill was also a very hard worker. Leading by example his work ethic was instilled in all three of his children. Whenever given the opportunity, he loved to brag on the successes of each one of his children. Bill will also be remembered for having an unbelievable sense of humor. He was forever playing a joke or planning a prank on someone, and always willing to laugh at himself as well. He enjoyed all sporting events and was an avid golfer for many years. When he moved to Monica Lane, he tried his hand at gardening and was quite a success. He became great friends with his neighbors and loved sitting on the porch having his morning coffee. There were those in the neighborhood that often referred to him as the Mayor of Monica Lane. He always wanted what was best for the neighborhood. He was all these things and so much more. His loss will forever be felt and all those that knew him will forever miss him. Bill is proceeded in death by 2 wives, Lettie Josephine and Clara Eleanor, his father, Grady William Dubose, his mother, Ethel Addie Webb Dubose, 2 sisters, Ruth Dubose Whatley, and Pearl Rudeen Dubose Shannon, 7 brothers; Alfred Dubose, Harmon Dubose, Earl Dubose, Roy Dubose, Coston Dubose, Hoyt Dubose, and Burl Dubose, and also two sons, Ronnie Thomas Dubose and Charles Grady Dubose. Memories of his life will forever be cherished by his 3 children, William Mack (Michelle) Dubose, Rebecca (Aaron) Turner, and Lisa Arnold. 1 sister, Betty Faye (Robert) Spence, 6 grandchildren, Melissa, Jennifer, Chasitie, Jordan, William Caul and Emily, and 3 great grandchildren, Brandon, Clara, and Garrett Thomas. He was excited about the future birth of his great grandchild, Eleanor. Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Thurs., Aug. 6, 2015 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Scott Daniel officiating. Burial will follow in Dozier Cemetery, Dozier, Alabama at 3:00PM. The family will receive friends from 5:00PM to 7:00PM on Wed., Aug. 5, 2015 at the funeral home.
