William Stephen Kotich

William Stephen Kotich passed away on December 14, 2019 in Pensacola, Florida at the age of 71 surrounded by family and friends. Mr. Kotich was born in Mobile, Alabama on February 12,1948. His family relocated to Pensacola in 1963. He graduated from Pensacola Catholic High School in 1967. He joined the Marines and served on active duty from 1967 to 1973. From 1969 to 1970 he served in Vietnam where he earned many combat and service decorations. After his Honorable Discharge from the Marines he transferred to the active Marine Corps Reserves in Mobile, Alabama. He also attended local colleges studying for his BS degree in Business Management. He was a dedicated full time Civil Service Employee at Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida where he worked as a Housing Management Supervisor. He held many positions during his 30 year career in housing and held a GS-12 rank. He was responsible for the operation-maintenance of Senior and Flag Officers Quarters for over 10 years and was well respected by the residents who lived on North Ave. He faithfully served his Country for over 35 years as a Marine and Housing Manager until his retirement in April 2003. Mr. Kotich was a Master Mason, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and Shriner. He loved to play various sports, followed College Football and enjoyed NASCAR racing. He devoted a large amount of time to studying U.S. Military History. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Madeline Kotich; and sister, Mary Shullaw. Mr. Kotich is survived by his long time companion, Billy Holley; son, Aaron Kotich; brother, Joseph Kotich; sisters, Cynthia (Charles) Jackson and Patricia “Sookie” (Lawrence) Wyse. He also is survived by his former wife, Terry Kotich-Rau; and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North on Thursday, December 19, 2019 from 6:00-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North on Friday, December 20, 2019 at 8:00am with Father Pathe officiating. Burial will follow with Military Honors by the Marine Corps in Barrancas National Cemetery, Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida. Semper Fidelas!
