William Adair Floyd

William Adair Floyd went to rejoice with the Lord on January 26, 2025. Greeting him in heaven are his beautiful wife, Valaree Gray Miles Floyd, whom he loved with all his heart, his parents, William Cecil Floyd and Marguerite Balzli Floyd, his loving daughter, Patricia Marie Floyd Granger Walden, his son-in-law, Paul Burton Granger, his grandson, Christopher Floyd Granger, and many more loved ones. Born April 17, 1938, in San Diego, California, he attended Lincoln High School, where he met his beloved Valaree. They were married on February 17, 1957. She was born October 17, 1938, in San Diego, California. The number 17 was always a lucky number for them both. William proudly served two years in the United States Marine Corps. He joined the International Union of Operating Engineers Local Union Number 12 on October 3, 1959, and received his 65-year membership pin just last month. He was elected Vice President of the I.U.O.E. in 1976, and served the membership with distinction and integrity until he retired in 1997. On December 7, 1996, he was awarded with a Lifetime Membership Gold Card for Local 12. He completed Certified Labor Studies Program degrees at both UCLA and Harvard Universities. He moved from Tustin, California, to Lillian, Alabama, shortly after he retired. Left behind to comfort one another are his son William Farris Floyd (Claudine), his daughters, Kari-Jo Floyd Morrow (Edward) and Juli Lynn Floyd Stroma (Tony), David Floyd, Eric Williams, Theresa Shaver, Ron Walden, Karen Stine and their families. Grandchildren, Ronnie, Tommy, Jolyne (Jeff), Paul, Brian (Sasha), Anthony (Becca), Kelley (Matthew), Sean (Bree), William, Drew (Shannon) and Malin. Twenty great grandchildren, Bryce, Ciara, Brooklyn, Braidan, Jag, Harlie, Christopher, Jayce, Anthony IV, Madison, Liam, Ronnie III (RJ), Jhett, Grayson, Kaden, Benjamin, Jude, Paisley, Caleb and Charlotte; honorary grandchildren, Ashley, Matt, Jayci, Kobi and the Pennington children. He attended Little Flock Primitive Baptist Church in Molino, Florida, which his ancestors founded in 1908 and where he will be laid to rest alongside his loving wife and family. The love he had for his family was pure and genuine from his loving heart. Jesus was his Lord and Savior and he always kept Jesus close to his heart. Funeral Services will be Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 11:30 AM, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South. Visitation will be one hour prior at 10:30 AM.
