William Edward Day Jr

William (Bill) Edward Day Jr, 75, of Pensacola Florida, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, June 20, 2025. He was born on November 29, 1949, in Pensacola, Florida. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, known for his generous heart, and deep love for his family. As a teenager, Bill achieved the rank of Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America. After graduating with multiple college degrees, Bill began his career as an accountant. During that time he also taught as a college professor at Pensacola Junior College for over twenty years. He later continued working in the financial sector assisting small businesses in the greater Pensacola Area at Community Enterprise Investments Inc. until his retirement in 2023. As a devoted father he was heavily involved in his sons’ extracurricular activities as a coach and (very vocal) supporter. He would regularly take his sons fishing and canoeing on Blackwater River and Big Lagoon. He also loved taking them to baseball, basketball and football games. He instilled biblical morals and ethics in his family both through the local church and in christian school education. William Edward Day will be remembered as a father and grandfather by many more than just his own children and was the living embodiment of Proverbs 22:6 - "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." Bill was preceded in death by his Grandparents Lila and Mack Lawrence; Father, William Edward Day; Sisters, Rhoda Wilson and Sue Thompson. Bill is survived by his Wife, Belinda Kay Day; Mother, Merle Lawrence Byrd; siblings, Patrick Day (Leslie) and Beth Miller (Mark); Children, William Edward Day III, Samuel Nathan Day, Charles Matthew Day and Daughter-in-law Abigail Day; Grandchildren, Brandon Alexander Day, Sydney Ocean Day, Micah William Day, Charles Joseph Day, and Lincoln Daniel Day. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews. Pallbearers: Samuel Nathan Day, Charles Matthew Day, William Edward Day, Jerome Williams, Andrew Pinney, Kavarie Brye The funeral service will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home at 100 Beverly Parkway at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be from 11:00 am - 1:00 PM. Dr. Dale Patterson officiating the service. Graveside service will be held at Bayview Memorial Park, 3351 Scenic Highway, Pensacola, Florida, following the funeral service.
