Vivian Lavon Yarbrough

Vivian Lavon Schaffer Yarbrough, 97, was born in Smithville, OH, on July 13, 1923, and went home to be with her Savior on January 18, 2021. She met her husband Gene, the love of her life, while they were both in the U.S. Navy at Patuxent River NAS, MD. As the wife of a career Navy man, she lived in many places in her life, including Millington, TN; Decatur, AL; Virginia Beach, VA; Roosevelt Roads, PR; Meridian, MS; Huntsville, AL and Pensacola, FL. She was a member of several organizations over the years including: Order of the Eastern Star, Order of the Amaranth, White Shrine of Jerusalem, Ladies Oriental Shrine, Scottish Rite Women’s Association and DeMolay Mother’s Club. Vivian is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Merle Gene Yarbrough, and their middle son, Donald A. Yarbrough. Vivian is survived by her sons, Ronald Yarbrough (Joyce); Michael Yarbrough (Lori); Daughter-in-law Marcia Yarbrough. Grandchildren: Kristie (Kam) Bradley; Kory (Camie) Yarbrough; Jennifer (Brian) Kritzmire; Scott Holland; Tamara Decker; Melanie (Bobby) Dix; Grand daughter-in-law Sheila Holland; twelve Great Grandchildren: Courtney, Kaitlyn, Timothy and Samuel Kritzmire; Devon and Ryan Holland; Quinton and Cameron Yarbrough; Jerah (Ryan) Vise; Spencer Orem; Matthew Dix; Erica (Nic) Dean; Kristina (Brandon) Barth; nine Great-Great Grandchildren: Hannah, Leah, Railee, Ryker, Ashton, Aries, Clayton, Jasper and Wyatt; 3 Adopted Grandsons: Tim, Andy and Rob Perkins whom she helped raise; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 27, 2021, from 10:30 to 11:30 AM, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South, with Funeral Service following at 11:30 AM. Dr. Dale Patterson and Pastor Jeff Redlin will be officiating. Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS Pensacola, FL. Pallbearers will be Kory Yarbrough, Quiton Yarbrough, Cameron Yarbrough, Scott Holland, Ryan Holland and Timothy Kritzmire. Honorary Pallbearers: Tim Perkins, Andy Perkins and Rob Perkins.
