Thomas Adrian Barnett

Master Sergeant Thomas Adrian Barnett, 67, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on March 13, 2025 surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Pensacola, Florida on November 29, 1957 to Adrian and Joyce Barnett. Tom was married to Sherry Lynn Barnett for 49 years. Master Sergeant Barnett proudly served his country for 28 years in the United States Air Force in Training and Education. Following his retirement, Tom continued to work for the US government as a contractor for an additional 23 years until he passed. Tom was a true embodiment of a military man- dedicated, disciplined, stoic, and loyal. Always a man of integrity and sharply dressed, he had a strong sense of duty and responsibility. He received the following awards during his military career: Meritorious Service Medal with three oak leaf clusters, AF Commendation Medal with one oak leaf cluster, AF Outstanding Unit Award with two oak leaf clusters, AF Organizational Excellence Award with one oak leaf cluster, AF Good Conduct Medal with seven oak leaf clusters, National Defense Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, AF Overseas Short Tour Ribbon, AF Longevity Service Award with five oak leaf clusters, NCO Professional Military Education Ribbon with two oak leaf clusters, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, and AF Training Ribbon. Tom loved his family and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. With those closest to him, he was funny, caring, generous, and protective. He was an avid foodie and loved to read. Tom was also an enthusiast for marksmanship and had a passion for motorcycles and history. He was preceded in death by his father, Adrian Barnett; mother, Joyce Barnett; and sister, Nancy Sides of Pensacola, Florida. Tom is survived by his wife, Sherry Barnett; daughter, Brook Barnett Gonzalez of San Antonio, Texas; sons, Dain Barnett of Montgomery, Alabama and Beau (Lea) Barnett of Montgomery, Alabama; grandchildren, Belen, Jack and Jacob Gonzalez of San Antonio, Texas; sister, Sharon Dickson of Pensacola, Florida; brother, Brian Barnett of Columbus, Mississippi, brother and best friend, Mark (Tina) Barnett of Davenport, Florida; and in-laws, Clark (Betty) Childress, and Janet Woods of Cantonment, Florida. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North at 1000 Hwy 29 South, Cantonment, Florida with Brother Randy Enfinger officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery, located in Pensacola Naval Air Station 1 Cemetery Road, Pensacola, Florida, at 1:00 pm with full military honors. Pallbearers are Jack Gonzalez (grandson), Jacob Gonzalez (grandson), Jeffrey Barnett (nephew), Bryan Majors (nephew), and Jason Brewster (nephew). Honorary pallbearers are Dain Barnett (son), Beau Barnett (son), and Mark Barnett (brother). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charities of his choice: Gideons International for bible donations and/or Wounded Warriors Project for service members and their families.
