Thea Mae Noblin

At 7:33 p.m. on January 3, 2013, surrounded by the family whose lives she richly blessed, our Angel received her Heavenly reward for which she could “hardly wait”, longing to see Jesus and be reunited with her daughter, Carol A. Noblin, grandson, Justin L. Harris and parents, Theodore and Hermenia Meyer. Thea Mae and her twin sister, Eleanor Marie Rouse were born July 16, 1926 in Des Moines, Iowa. The twins attended school in Chicago, IL where Thea’s love of fine arts and music lead her to study the piano, organ, violin and accordion. She served her Savior with her talents at Stone Church and attended Billy Graham crusades where her faith was strengthened further. She met Bill, the love of her life, in church on a visit from Alabama to the Windy City. Married on April 30, 1949, Thea gave up her state job and city life shopping at Marshall Fields in high heels to tend chickens, pigs and milk cows barefoot on their farm in Bonifay, FL. After the birth of two children, Bill and Thea returned to Chicago to join a family business and welcomed two more children before moving to Pensacola in 1959 where their fifth child was born. Thea dedicated her life to God and she preferred Jesus to “anything”, but her earthly treasures (her diamonds and rubies) were her children: Donna M. Harris, Ronald G. Noblin (Mary), Carol A. Noblin, Joan S. Parker (John) and Jane L. Conti (Rick); grandchildren, Tonia C. Marsh (Danny), Justin L. Harris, Jeremy M. Vinson (Ashley), Kimberly N. Harris, Tyler G. Noblin, Riki N. Conti and Jacey L. Conti; great grandchildren, Madison D. Marsh, Mitchell J. Marsh, Mahaley N. Marsh, Kayleigh N. Hansley, Jordan S. Leduc, and Kaidan J. Dunnavant. Being a mother was her greatest joy, bringing her such pleasure and reward, yet she always had time for everyone from celebrating their successes to comforting their sorrows. She shared her testimony of salvation to all not only verbally but also in Christ-like compassion with hugs and kisses. She loved serving others in her work at the Council on Aging and in her ministry through song and music to the broken and unwhole at the Rosewood Manor Nursing Home. Her family is standing on the “Promises of God” and can “hardly wait” to see her again. Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at FAITH CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 100 Beverly Pkwy with Rev. Dan Livingston officiating. Interment will follow in Bayview Memorial Park.
