Terry Lee Chambers

Terry Lee Chambers passed away Saturday, February 18, 2023. He is survived by his loving wife of more than 36 years, Rose Chambers, and their children: Terry L. Chambers II, Crystal Burdine, Tira Chambers (Lazaro Estrada Esquivel), Jake Barrows (Anna), and Amanda Barrows; his sister and brothers: Jeanette Wilson, Ralph Chambers (Lee Ann), Randy Chambers (Sharon), and Chris Chambers (Stacy); 8 grandchildren: Jenna Moya, Sha’Tory Burdine, Macio Chambers, Summer Chambers, Marisa, Kayleigh, Adelynn and Ellie Barrows; and 6 great grandchildren: Ja’Kya, Zane and Zae’den Moya, Kalliope Cumpian, Silas Chambers, and Lucas Estrada. Terry was so proud of his entire family and loved them unconditionally. He also loved and was adored by his two dogs, Abby Lane and Dollie Sue. Terry enlisted in the United States Navy at the age of 18 and served proudly and honorably for the next 23 years, achieving the rank of Senior Chief before his retirement in 1989. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served as an Aviation Electrician with various squadrons; his last assignment was Command Senior Chief for VF-11 (Red Rippers) at NAS Oceana VA. He continued to serve for another 9+ years as a Security Guard at the Navy Brig onboard NAS Pensacola. He loved telling “sea stories” of his experiences and was justifiably proud to have served his country. Terry was first and foremost a devoted and faithful servant of God. Even his dog knew not to eat before prayer. His well-worn Bible will be cherished and passed down as testimony to future generations. We will also treasure memories of the joy his annual golf trips with his brothers gave him, his mastery of grilling while enjoying a beer, and how much he loved watching sports, old movies, or the History Channel while relaxing in his recliner. Visitation services for Terry Lee Chambers will begin at 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South with Chaplain Jess Morgan conducting the service at 12:30 PM.
