SUSIE VIOLA JOHNSON 9/3/1927 - 8/19/2018 Susie Viola Roberson Forester Johnson, a native of Starkville MS, passed away of age-related illness in the care of Regency Hospice at Solaris Healthcare in Pensacola FL. Sue was preceded in death by her husband Larry Johnson, step-son Dale Johnson, parents Earnest and Viola Roberson and brothers Marion and Roy Roberson. She is survived by her sister Mary Ivey; brother-in-law Carroll Johnson; children Suzanne (Steve) Foster of Fairhope AL, Kathleen (Darrel) Greer of Milton FL, Marguerite (Frank) Dittrick of Pace FL, Mary Ellen (Sam) Galloway of Pensacola FL and Robert (Sue) Forester of Pensacola FL; step-daughter Deborah Hansen of Pensacola FL; grandchildren Laurie Pedersen, Stephen (Lanna’) Foster, Chad (Bridget) Greer, Shane (Lexie) Greer, Kim (Howie) Rounsaville, Kyle Dittrick, Matthew (Nikki) Galloway, Meredith (Kyle) Stauter, Brooke Forester and Summer Forester; great-grandchildren Eric & Stephen Pedersen, Ramsey Foster, Trent & Trey Parra’, Conor, Charlotte, & Luke Greer, Calyn Rounsaville, Cooper, Brody & Blake Galloway and Colton & Juliana Stauter; and great-greatgrandchildren Annabelle, Elanya, & Levi Pedersen. Sue is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews, as well as dear friends in Pensacola FL and Bay Minette AL; she spent most of her life in those two cities. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Daphne AL. With her work ethic and the unconditional love she shared with her children, Sue was a blessing and inspiration to all who knew her. When she found herself a single mom in 1965 with five children aged 10 to 18 in austere circumstances, she met the challenge with unselfish, untiring resolve to improving her life and that of her children. Sue worked for Monsanto for many years and was also a joint owner of a tax business. Eventually, she and Larry were able to enjoy travel from east to west and north to south across the United States, and from Europe to Central America to Hong Kong. Sue brought joy and love to all who knew her and truly enjoyed gatherings of family and friends—she will be sorely missed. A memorial service will be held at Faith Chapel South, 100 Beverly Parkway, Pensacola FL on Saturday, August 25, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. A private interment will be at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola Naval Air Station FL. The family extends their thanks and gratitude to special nurses Patti, Steve, Lori, Anita, Sandie ARNP and Jennifer ARNP; the Regency Hospice staff; and West Florida Home Care caregivers Katherine, Alice, Chrissy, Vicki and Lisa; and all of the caring aides at Summer Vista and Solaris.
