Ronnie Dolan Wilson

Ronnie D. Wilson, Decorated Marine, Vietnam Veteran and Shriner/Mason, passed away peacefully in his hometown of Pensacola, Florida, on May 3rd, 2018 at 2:00PM. Ronnie led a life of unselfishness and service that impacted so many lives, young and old. After having served in the Marine Corps during Vietnam, returning with multiple accolades, service awards and the coveted Purple Heart, Ronnie dove into Civil Service Duty that lasted nearly 4 decades. Ronnie warmed the hearts of thousands while working as an Aircraft Examiner at NADEP NAS Pensacola, the BRAC at NAS Pensacola and Cherry Point, NC. Ronnie was a member of the Scottish Rite and a very active member of Pace Masonic Lodge Number 349, serving as Worshipful Master. Additionally, Ronnie was also an active member of the Hadji Shriners where both he and his wife Bettie supported and participated in multiple Shriner events. Ronnie gave back to his community and his fellow Shriners through volunteering and fundraising events that supported the Shriners Children’s Hospital. Ronnie developed a love for representing the Hadji Shriners as Parade Marshall and President of the Hadji Misfits Unit. His love transformed a homemade go cart into a parade vehicle with sirens, horns, lights and draped necklace beads. Ronnie gave rides and gifts to all those that attended the recent Easter Egg Hunt for Shriner children. Ronnie will be missed by his many brothers of the Corps, the Masonic Fraternity and Nobles of the Shriners. Ronnie is survived by his wife of 26 years, Bettie Bailey-Wilson, his brother Jimmy Wilson, sons Andrew Wilson (Lamis), Anthony Wilson (Ann), Ronnie D. Wilson, Jr., David Wilson (children) and daughter Renee Wilson-Gonzalez (Jose), Glenn Bailey, Gregory Bailey (Darcy and sons, Jaxon and Max), Kerri and Terry Wilson and a host of nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Anthony Wilson, Andrew Wilson, Gregory Bailey, Craig Smith, Reggie Allen and James Patrick Yacobucci. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at 10:30AM, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 8, at the Funeral Home. Burial will be at Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS, Pensacola, Florida. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
