Robert "Bob" Lyle Wiscombe

Robert “Bob” Lyle Wiscombe, born in Pontiac, Michigan on January 12th, 1953 has passed away on June 29th, 2020. He will be forever missed by family and friends and leaves a legacy of love and hope. He is preceeded in death by his parents Lyle and Gay Wiscombe. He is survived by his wife, Susan Wiscombe; by his daughter Amanda Waite and her husband Matthew and grandchildren Mason, Emerson, and Grayson; his daughter Heather Schultz and her husband Christopher and grandchildren Colton and Cooper. He was the second oldest of Lyle and Gay’s four children. He is survived by his sister, Jill Wiscombe , and brothers Thomas and Brian Wiscombe, as well as many nieces, nephews and greats. He was a devoted husband, father, Paw Paw, Uncle and brother. He will forever be remembered by the nicknames he gave his family. He was the voice of reason, calm of the storm, and the glue that held our family together. Bob moved to Pensacola as a teenager and began a career in the welding business. He was known by many as “Friendly Bob” and self-identified as “a legend” in the welding business. In his free time, he could be found doing charity work through his Masonic Lodge, Cantonment 322, in Cantonment Florida. He spent years mentoring others to become Master Masons and served three times as Past Master at the Cantonment Lodge. He was an avid golfer and a very serious competitor. He was so proud to be a three time Club Champion at Cypress Lakes Golf Course in Gonzalez, Florida and the current Champion. Even through illness, he was thrilled to have shot a 68 this past March, in preparation for the up coming 2020 Club Championship. When not golfing or participating in Masonic events he could be found with his family. Everyone who knew Bob knew that his daughters and grandchildren were his whole world. He often spent time cooking for the family. If you’ve ever had his Sunday Gravy or Gumbo, you know. He also taught himself to play the guitar. The sounds of him playing will forever be in our memories. Bob was selfless, kind, giving, and a loving soul. He lived to take care of others. He loved to have friends and family over to play in his pool and to smoke up some meat for everyone to enjoy. Bob will be laid to rest on Wednesday, July 8th at Faith Chapel North 1000 S. Hwy 29, Cantonment, FL at 3:00 p.m. We invite all friends and family for visitation from 1:00-3:00 p.m. prior to the service.
