Robert Stanley Kent

Robert Stanley Kent 1944-2016 After a long and courageous battle with leukemia, Robert Stanley Kent, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2016. He was born June 9, 1944 to lrus Stanley and Wanetta Bates Kent in Conneaut, OH. Bob graduated from Rowe High School in 1962 and Ohio University In 1967. Bob was a pitcher for the Rowe High School baseball team, taking them to the State Championship. He later played for the Bobcats at Ohio University. Bob was employed in plastic sales for over 45 years. He was very active in CLYO (Conneaut Local Youth Organization) in Conneaut, Ohio having coached the youth in baseball there for many years taking one of his teams to the state championship game in 1989. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns fan. After moving to Cantonment, Florida in 2008, Bob was active in ushering for the Blue Wahoo's baseball team and became a member of the Pensacola Browns Backers. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Philip. He is survived by his wife, Judith (Herb) Kent, his children; Irus R. (Robbie) Kent and his wife Robin; their daughters; Mackenzie and Cameron Kent of Cantonment, FL; Scott D. Kent and Justin Zaiko of West Palm Beach, FL, Michelle R. Kent, Winston Salem, NC, Jared A. Kent and his wife Jessica; their children; Jerricka, Julian, and Jamie Kent of Acworth, GA, and Adam M. Kent and Tatiana Verovich of N. Royalton, OH. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family is grateful to all of Bob's many doctors and the loving care that was provided to Bob at Select Specialty Hospital. Visitation will be from 5-6 followed by a Celebration of Bob's life at 6.:00 p.m. This will be held July 5th, 2016 at Pine Summit Baptist Church, 2920 Belleview Ave, Pensacola FL. Pastor Donnie Petersen will be officiating. In lieu of flowers the family has suggested that those who wish to make a memorial in Bob's memory to please consider the CLYO Organization, P. 0.
