Raymond Earl Singleton

Raymond Earl Singleton, 72, of Milton, Florida went home to join his Lord on November 10, 2015 after a 16 year fight with Parkinson's Disease and more recently Multiple System Atrophy. Raymond was a member of East Brent Baptist Church, a veteran of the United States Army, a textile worker with Monsanto, and a manager of several Barnes Supermarkets before becoming a District Supervisor for Tom Thumb Food Stores where he retired as a Marketer. Raymond was born April 7, 1943 in Oak Grove, Florida to Walter and Carlie Singleton and attended McDavid School. He was an avid outdoors-man who especially loved fishing. He also was a talented gardener, a fan of the W.W.E., enjoyed watching many sports, and was a die-hard Florida Gator football fan. He loved to barbecue and have fish fries during the warm weather and looked forward to the holidays and the gathering of the family to celebrate them. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter; mother, Carlie; three brothers, Troy, Joseph, and J.D., and three sisters, Edith, Opal, and Ruby. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Alice Cropper Singleton and son, Richard Singleton, both of Milton, Florida; daughter, Cynthia R. Singleton of Pensacola, Florida; granddaughter, Chelsea Singleton Hughes and great granddaughter, Annabelle Alice Hughes, both of Champaign, Illinois. He is also survived by his brother and sister in law, Hollis and Mary Singleton of Cato, Georgia and sister, Rachel Pritchett of Century, Florida along with many nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements are through Faith Chapel South in Pensacola, Florida. Services will be held on November 17th at 12:30 PM at East Brent Baptist Church followed by interment at Barrancas National Cemetery on board Naval Air Station Pensacola at 2:00 PM. Family visitation will be from 11:00 to 11:30 AM and from 11:30 to 12:00 for friends and other loved ones.
