Prentiss Touchstone

Prentiss Touchstone 1926-2014 Prentiss Touchstone, 88, a native of Pensacola, FL passed away November 2, 2014 surrounded by family. He was born in Washington County, AL to the late Jessie Touchstone and Ida Mae Wood Touchstone. Prentiss served in the Army during WW II in France and Germany. After serving his country he spent more than 50 years building residential homes in Pensacola. He was an avid gardener and fisherman. Everyone in his family always looked forward to his good cooking and listening to the stories of his past that he loved to share. Prentiss is survived by his wife of 68 years Bonnie Touchstone and one sister, Mae Helen (Odell) Toomey. Children: Carolyn (Ron) Lang, Phylis Kelly, Shirley (Larry) Peterson, Dwayne (Ginger) Touchstone, Ronnie (Yvette) Touchstone, Donnie (Kathy) Touchstone and Marilyn Taylor. Grandchildren: Tina Webb, Tiffaney Wood, Jason Kelly, Gena Sonnier, Jennifer Ingram, Allison Touchstone, Jodi Balkum, Cassie Touchstone, Ashley Allen, Jessica Touchstone, Kati Touchstone, Krista Touchstone, Lucretia Kelly, and Cory Taylor. Prentiss also has 16 great grandchildren. Prentiss has many other family and friends who love him dearly. In addition to his parents, Prentiss is preceded in death by his sisters Lettie Stokley and Martha Taylor and brothers JL Touchstone and Odis Touchstone. Prentiss is also preceded in death by one grandson, Timothy Lang and a great Grandson, Peyton Ingram. The Touchstone family wishes to give special thanks to Dr. Daniel Phillips, Dr. Linda Stallings and Jonathon Simmons for their devoted care during his last days. Pallbearers: Jerry Touchstone, Jerry Toomey, Danny Touchstone, Larry Touchstone, Ricky Daily, and Albert Stokley, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers: Gary Skipper and JJ Wendling. Vistation for family and friends will be on Tuesday, November 4 2014 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Faith Chapel South. A Funeral Service will be held at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 1:00 PM with Russell Glasgow officiating.
