Phyllis Marguerite Hoyt

Phyllis Marguerite Hoyt 1925-2017 Phyllis Marguerite Hoyt, aged 91, was born in Akron, Ohio on November 15, 1925 and passed away September 22, 2017, while at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, Mississippi. She was the daughter of Carl and Opha Hall and had 6 brothers and one sister. Her siblings: Robert, Delmer, Donald, Marvin, Charles, Teddy and Viola Hall preceded her in death. She is survived by three sisters-in law: Betty Hall, Renita Hall, and Beverly Hoyt. Phyllis married Elmer Towle Hoyt in 1945 and they were blessed to raise 5 sons and a daughter. She was married to Elmer for 43 years before he died in Pensacola, Florida in December of 1988. Phyllis moved a short time later to Madison, Mississippi where she could be closer to her daughter, Lynette. She spent the last ten years of her life at Sunny Brooke Retirement home enjoying her life, until most recently, when she developed heart problems. Phyllis was a devoted wife and mother who lived her Christian faith daily. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends. She is survived by her children: David and Joan Hoyt of Pensacola, Florida, Marvin and Emily Hoyt of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Jim and Becky Hoyt of Prattville, Alabama, Rev. Phil and Cyndie Hoyt of Hendersonville, Tennessee, Gary and Diane Hoyt of Jackson, Tennessee and daughter, Lynette Hoyt McBrayer and husband Kevin of Madison, Mississippi. Mom Hoyt loved her 17 grandchildren and was thrilled to have 19 great grandchildren. She also especially loved her niece and husband, Betty and Don Hill of Conway, Arkansas as they were so loving and kind. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 29th at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South, 100 Beverly Street, Pensacola, Florida. Visitation is at 10 a.m. with the funeral at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Bayview Memorial Park Cemetery at 3351 Scenic Highway, Pensacola. Dr. Jerry Passmore will be officiating. Pallbearers include sons, David, Jim, Phil and Gary Hoyt. Also included as pall bearers, grandson Kenny Hoyt, and son-in-law Kevin McBrayer. Our family would like to thank Hospice Ministries for their loving care and kindness to Mom. “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the homecoming of His godly ones.” Psalm 116:15 Mom is finally where she has longed to be: with dad, her mom, her brothers and sister, at the foot of the throne. There is comfort and joy knowing this isn’t the end.
