Perfecto Aviles Dacpano

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Perfecto “Ping”, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and brother, who left this world on November 23, 2024, at the age of 74. Born on April 14, 1950, in Lingayen Pangasinan, Philippines, Perfecto embarked on a life journey filled with dedication, service, and love. A proud Filipino immigrant and American citizen, he appreciated the immense opportunities this country offered him and devoted his life to serving his family, country and community. Perfecto honorably served in the United States Navy for 20 years, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. While in service, he pursued his passion for learning, earning a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Maryland and completing numerous vocational courses that he later used in his real estate business. Much of his naval career was stationed in various countries including the Philippines, United States, and Europe, where he and his beloved wife and children enjoyed the richness of travel, culture, and cuisine. Early in his military career, Perfecto was recognized for his heroism in saving a man's life, and he received numerous awards for his commendable work and community contributions. Known for his warm smile, gentle kindness, and calming presence, Perfecto was a pillar of support and an unwavering friend to those around him. He was a humble man, shy and never seeking the spotlight, yet always ready to lend a helping hand without expecting anything in return. Upon retiring from the Navy, Perfecto continued his commitment to public service as a U.S. government employee for 20 years working in Information Technology. Simultaneously, he ventured into the world of real estate, establishing himself as a successful realtor and business owner. Perfecto was a devout Catholic, deeply devoted to his faith. He shared 52 wonderful years of marriage with his childhood sweetheart, Catalina Sumabat, a testament to their enduring love and partnership. He was actively involved in various organizations, including the Myrtle Grove Masonic Lodge #352, United Pangasinan (UPANG), the Philippine Masonic Association chapter (Travelers), and the Fil-Am Association. His active participation reflected his commitment to community and fellowship. Perfecto's hobbies were as diverse as his talents. He found joy in cooking, eating, fishing, reading, learning, and teaching. Real estate was not just a career but a passion, and above all, he treasured spending time with his family. Perfecto's life was a testament to the virtues of service, love, and humility. He will be profoundly missed, yet his spirit will live on in the hearts and memories of those he touched throughout his remarkable life. His legacy will endure in the hearts of those he touched and in the stories that will be shared for generations to come. Perfecto was preceded in death by this parents, Juan and Simprosa Dacpano; his brother, Julito Dacpano; his father and mother in-law Mariano and Mercilina Sumabat; sister in-law Lolita Sumabat and stepbrother Eli Cruz. He is survived by his devoted wife, Catalina Sumabat and their loving children, Geraldine (Everett Lambeth, Jr.), Jumar (Karen Lucas); his grandchildren, Gavin and Madison Dacpano; and Evengeline and Isabella Lambeth; and a dear siblings Proserpina Dacpano Cano, and Imelda Aviles Dacpano all of whom will continue to carry forward his legacy of compassion and generosity. A beloved individual who touched the lives of many, Perfecto A. Dacpano's journey spanned vibrant decades filled with love, laughter, and profound moments of wisdom. His legacy is cherished by family, friends, and all who had the privilege to know him. As we gather to honor his memory, we reflect on the enduring impact of his kindness, the warmth of his smile, and the inspiration he provided through his unwavering dedication to those he held dear. A visitation will be held at Faith Chapel Funeral Home (South) on Thursday, December 5th from 4:00pm to 8:00pm in Pensacola, FL. Mason Procession at 4:00pm and Rosary will begin at 4:30pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at Little Flower Catholic Church on Friday, December 6th at 9:00am. A graveside service with military honors will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery in Naval Air Station Pensacola at 11:00am.
