Peggy June Padgett Wooten

Peggy was born in 1939 in Evergreen, Alabama, and grew up in Pensacola, Florida. She was the second child and oldest daughter of Roy Padgett and Elsie Rushing Padgett. Peggy spent her last few years residing in a cozy little cottage in Niceville, Florida. Toward the end of her brief illness, Peggy found great solace in the idea of seeing her parents and three siblings again - Rodney, Jerrell, and Debbie - once her journey here was through. She spoke of them often and with great love. Peggy was most looking forward to being reunited with the one great love of her life. Danny Wooten was her beloved husband of 53 years and her life was never the same after his loss. Peggy and Danny were smitten with one another from the time they met in junior high school. They married in 1958, very shortly after high school. They went on to have three sons: Dan “Scooter” Wooten, Jr. (Shanda), of Niceville, Florida, Tim Wooten (Betsy) of Pace, Florida, and John Wooten, of Niceville, Florida. After a very long, but worthwhile wait they welcomed one grandchild, Isabel Rose Wooten. Isabel loved her Mimi dearly. Today Peggy is finally laughing and dancing in the heavens with her darling once again. I am my beloved’s, and my beloved is mine. Song of Songs, 6:3 Pallbearers will be Roy King, Jody Dunn, Jeff Love, Eddie Stedman, Pete Krostag, and Jeff Adams. Visitation and Service will be held at Faith Chapel Funeral Home in Pensacola, Florida, and will be followed by a graveside service at Bayview Memorial Cemetery. The celebration of Peggy‘s life will be held on July 31, 2023 starting at 12 PM. This date is most fitting as it also marks the 85th anniversary of Danny‘s birth. The family would like to thank Dr. Chris Reid, Dr. Luke Yuhiko, and Dr. Henry Hsiang for their attentiveness, guidance, and unwavering kindness during this difficult time. Thank you to the wonderful staff of Fort Walton Beach Medical Center during her multiple recent visits there. Your thoughtfulness and caring spirits will not be forgotten. Thank you to Jay and Dee for creating one last perfect, lovely day for her at home. And Thank You to the amazing staff of Emerald Coast Hospice for the care, grace and support you all gave so lovingly to Peggy and the Family.
