Nickie Colello

Nickie Colello , 83, of Pensacola, Florida, formerly of Rome, GA, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on March 25, 2018. Nickie was born in Rome, GA to Antonio Colello and Georgiana Saul on July 7, 1934. Nickie served in the US Navy for four years and served aboard the USS Knudson as an Electrician’s Mate. Nickie graduated from the Southern Technical Institute in 1960 with a degree in Electrical Technology. Nickie retired from the Federal Aviation Administration after 30 years as the Radar Unit Supervisor at the Pensacola Regional Airport. Nickie enjoyed reading, spending time in the outdoors, including fishing, swimming, and gardening. But most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. Nickie is preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Ann; his parents, Antonio and Georgiana; a step mother, Antonietta Truncellito; a brother, Frank Colello; and a sister, Martha Colello; and a half-brother, Mario Colello. Nickie is survived by four sons, Nick Colello (Sharon) of Pensacola, FL, Cris Colello (Lena) of Norfolk, VA, Mike Colello (Kirsten) of Washington DC, Scott Colello (Deeana) of Pensacola, FL; a brother, Tony Colello, Jr. of Rome, GA; two half-sisters, Rosalia Colello of Rome, GA, Elisa Hubbs of Jackson Hole, WY; a half-brother, Jimmy Colello of Rome, GA ; three grandsons, Nicholas Colello, Nathan Colello, Ross Colello; and two granddaughters, Casey Colello and Jessica Colello. The family would like to extend special thanks to Emerald Coast Hospice and Home Instead Healthcare for their excellent care and compassion. Funeral service will be held at Saint Paul’s Catholic Church on March 28, 2018 at 11:00AM with Father Craig Smith of St. Paul’s Catholic Church officiating. Burial will follow at Bayview Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Saint Paul’s Catholic Church in Pensacola on March 28, 2018 at 10:00 – 11:00 AM.
