Modelina Masian Opena

Modelina was the beloved wife of Tony Opena for 57 years, a devoted mother to her four children and the most loving Lola to her 11 grandchildren and great grandchildren. Modelina was an active member of the NAS Chapel Pensacola for 45 years. She retired as a housekeeper after 30 years with the Bachelors Officer Quarters- Pensacola. Modelina enjoyed cooking Filipino food for her family and friends. Modelina also had a passion for gardening. Most importantly Modelina was a woman deeply rooted in her Catholic faith and always surrounded herself around her friends and family who will miss her very much. Please respect that the difficult family decision was made to make the visitation, rosary and service a virtual event for the safety of everyone during the COVID pandemic. The public is invited to the gravesite at Barrancas National Cemetery. Visitation is at Faith Chapel- South on 1/3/21 from 5-7 PM. Rosary prayer will be at 5:30 PM. Service is at Faith Chapel- South on 1/4/21 at 9:00 AM followed by burial at Barrancas National Cemetery at 10 AM. Modelina is preceded in death by her father, Atanacio Masian, mother, Felicidad Masian, brother, Ruperto Masian, brother, Jose Masin, and sister, Lita Calingao. Modelina is survived by her spouse, Tony Opena; daughter, Maria McGhee; son in law, Joseph McGhee; son, Orlando Opena; daughter in law, Kerry Opena; daughter, Anne Opena; daughter, Eliza White; son in law, Ryan White; granddaughter, Christina Cardenas; grandson, Joshua Opena; grandson, Jayden McGhee; grandson, Antonio Opena; grandson; David Opena; granddaughter, Keiara Miseray; grandson, Noah Galzerano; great granddaughter, Madilyn Opena; great granddaughter, Emalyn Opena; great granddaughter, Raelyn Opena; and great granddaughter, Laila Cardenas. Pallbearers will be Joshua Opena, Jayden McGhee, Noah Galzerano, Antonio Opena, David Opena, and Jonathan Cardenas.
