Wilfredo Mandigma “Chico” Lojo, USN, Retired Master Chief December 28, 1945 – October 1, 2024 Wilfredo was born in Mataasnakahoy, Batangas, Philippines on December 28, 1945, as the eldest son of eight children to Maximino and Josefa Lojo (Mandigma), and passed away peacefully at the age of 78 on October 1, 2024 in Pensacola, FL surrounded by family. At the age of 21, with little to his name, Wilfredo enlisted in the United States Navy and served at military stations around the world. It was during his time in the Navy that he earned the nickname “Chico” and, after 30 years of distinguished service, he retired as a Master Chief. Despite his many accolades, including achieving the highest enlisted rank, his proudest moment during his Naval career was meeting his future wife, Josephine Valenzuela. Throughout their 40 years of marriage, Wilfredo and Josephine built a fulfilling life in Pensacola and cherished their many blessings. They raised their three children with love, instilling in them the importance of family, hard work, and charity. A devoted Catholic, Wilfredo dedicated much of his time and resources to the church. He was a founding member of the local Philippine Masonic Association chapter, and later served as international president of its parent organization. With enduring support from Josephine, Wilfredo worked tirelessly to build a real estate business. He ran his endeavors prudently, but also shared his successes with those around him and was endlessly generous to his family, friends, and community. He was equally proud to be an American immigrant as he was to be a Filipino, and the honor he returned to his birth nation and the municipality founded by his grandfather cannot be measured. Wilfredo will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father and Lolo, a faithful Freemason, and a jovial friend to all. He enjoyed golf, poker, reading, and the occasional libation or two, but his greatest joy came from spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by many, but his legacy will live on through his family for generations to come. He is preceded in death by his parents, Maximino and Josefa Lojo; his sisters, Aurora Lojo and Ofelia Templo; his brother, Paul Lojo; and his grandson, baby Max. Wilfredo is survived by his loving wife, Josephine and their three children, Michelle (Steven) Scutti, Alfred (Cori) Lojo, and James Lojo; his son, Don (April) Rudish; his grandchildren, Louisa and Nicholas Scutti; and Gwyneth, Marian, and Ruby Lojo; and his siblings, Perla Dizon, Maxpe Lojo, Thelma Peña, and Peter Lojo. A visitation will be held at Faith Chapel Funeral Home (South) on Wednesday, October 9th from 4:30pm to 8:00pm in Pensacola, FL. Rosary will begin at 4:30pm and Mason Procession at 5:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at Little Flower Catholic Church on Thursday, October 10th at 9:30am. A graveside service with military honors will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery in Naval Air Station Pensacola at 11:00am. A Reception will follow at the Pensacola Country Club at 11:45am.
